Last Sunday, football fans were treated to an anti gun rant by NBC sports commentator Bob Costas in response to the murder committed by Kansas City Chief Jovan Belcher before he turned the gun on himself. Costas' rant referenced a column by Jason Whitlock of Fox Sports and Costas came to the conclusion that “if Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins [Belcher's girlfriend] would both be alive today.” This despite the fact that police believe alcohol may have played a large part; Costas didn't appear to be in any hurry to blame booze for the tragic events. Jason Whitlock's article even made the assertion that the NRA, an organization dedicated to preserving Constitutional rights was equivalent to the KKK, an organization dedicated to denying said rights.
Also we'll talk about the Virginina Autozone employee who defended a coworker from an armed robber with a gun. His reward for this selfless act of bravery? A big, fat, pink slip from an obviously ungrateful AutoZone who apaprently values corporate policy over human life.
